toscreamsilent10:18am: i always get so anxious when i near the end of a book.

1:17pm, four hundred thirty pages later, juice finishes A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

taken from page 210, " 'Intolerance,' she wrote, pressing down hard on the pencil, 'is a thing that causes war, pogroms, crucifixions, lunchings, and makes people cruel to little children and to each other. It is respondsible for most of the viciousness, violence, terror and heart and soul breaking of the world.' "

i just liked that a whole lot and thought that it was so true, you should read it too.

malacia2:25am: let's choose a book! xoxo

we should really pick a book, now. shouldn't we? i think we're all reading something currently though. i know both juicy and ryon are in possession of white noise ... right now i'm reading zen & the art of motorcycle maintenance(sp?) by robert pirsig and asleep by banana yoshimoto. zen is really heavy and philosophical and long and maybe we could all go through this like a chapter at a time? read the chapter and discuss it? maybe? i don't know if we have the dedication. hehe. let me know what you kids think. it's a good book so far, i'm only about 7 chapters out or 40 or 50 into it. it's a journey that a father and son make on a motorcycle and we could go along with their journey, you know? reply now! love.

hwychle4:34am: "I felt very still and very empty, the way the eye of a tornado must feel, moving dully along in the middle of the surrounding hullabaloo."
Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to leave a comment on where it lists the book, or start a new entry so I'm going to go ahead and do this... Since The Bell Jar is the other book for this week and I got it today, I've gotten through the first 3 chapters tonite. I'll do an lj-cut though so I don't spoil anything for those of us who haven't read through the same place yet.
